De-conferencing takes time, you know!

Last week I attended the Romance Writers of America
in Atlanta. It was fabulous! And hats off to the local Georgians. (Is that the right way to say it?) They are super friendly and very kind, gentle people. And they sure know how to build big hotels. I was blown away by the Atrium alone in the Marriott Marquis.

 One man standing beside me likened it to being the belly of a dinosaur! The spine was the set of glass tube elevators and some writers couldn't even look out of them. I was told it was the second largest atrium in the world. Wow! I would faint in the largest, I'm sure.

But this conference wasn't about atriums. It was about writing, and now, a week later, I'm still processing all I heard and learned. That's the way it is with conferences. You take the time to stuff in all the info and networking you can and then you do what I am doing right now.

Camping and de-conferencing. I'll let you know how successful I am this coming week. But in the meantime, stay tuned as I fill you in on some of the fun things I did!

Another Great Seafood place!

This summer has really found us out and about a lot, and sampling a lot of seafood places just as much. Tonight, on the recommendation of a friend, we stopped in Cap Pele again, but at another take out.

The Bel-Air was surprisingly large inside for a take out, and the service fast and friendly. Having not had anything to eat for hours, we tried the 5 piece fish and chips (two of them) and the large fried clam platter. Onion rings were a free substitution, and we jumped at the offer.

We found the food excellent, and well worth the value. 





In fact, after eating all we could, we were still left with enough for a doggy bag. And no, a doggy will not be getting this meal! We ate it later and it was still delicious!

Another thing I liked was that they offered two kinds of vinegar. White and malt. I just happen to be a fan of malt, so that's what I chose.
And I can't finish this recommendation without saying that the flowers outside were just lovely.

Bucket of Yum!

We took a drive one evening and ended up at L'Aboiteau wharf. Feeling peckish, (heck, we were starving!) we stayed for their bucket deal.



 It cost $25, and in it were 3 lobsters, 3 king crabs, steamed mussels and clams and of course, 2 corn on the cob.




 We dug in.

 

And ate until it was all gone, which didn't take long because it was delicious!

 

And, one of the coolest things was this - vanity for clean up afterwards, right in the restaurant! Now that is ingenuity!
